London. UK. Under the established Legal Research Programme, Human Rights at Sea today publishes Mr. Shadi Elserafy’s thesis written in fulfilment of his Masters Degree in Peace and Conflict Transformation for the University of Tromso, The Arctic University of Norway.
The Thesis is a doctrinal study on the international legal framework pertaining to the smuggling of migrants across the Mediterranean Sea. It critically discusses, in light of the so-called ‘migrant crisis’ in the EU, the complex intersection of the various branches of international law that at times are conflicting, and which responds and reflect on the ongoing migrant crisis in the Central Mediterranean Sea.
