IMHR Conference Takes Shape

Following an overwhelmingly positive response to the launch of the first International Maritime Human Rights Conference and Gala Dinner, Ensign Events, together with Human Rights at Sea, are delighted to announce that the event is now open for delegate registrations and sponsorship bookings (http://mar-rights.com/sponsorship/).

The International Maritime Human Rights Conference (IMHR) is rapidly taking shape, headed by an experienced events team and a strong Advisory Board line-up which will ensure that the conference takes a balanced and objective approach to the topical and emerging matters in maritime human rights.

The updated and expanded website allows visitors to now view:

  • Outline conference programme topics
  • Advisory Board members’ biographies
  • Confirmed speakers and panellists to date

Taking place at the Royal College of Surgeons in London on 14th September 2016, IMHR will focus on explicitly addressing the issue of maritime human rights and associated welfare issues throughout the maritime environment. The conference will be followed by a networking cocktail reception and evening black tie gala dinner.

The venue has capacity for 290 attendees. There is a high level of international interest in this event, so early registration is advised.

Jean Gowin, Director of Ensign Events and Managing Director of Jeanius Consulting, said: “The initial response had been an overwhelmingly positive one, with a wide array of people very interested in this timely and topical subject matter, and we are delighted to be organising this event. While some may be cautious of this highly emotive debate, with seafarers at the very heart of maritime, the issues of human rights need to be addressed. We are very much aiming for the conference to both offer an open and honest exchange of opinions and culminate in a strong ‘call to action’ to unite maritime industries in creating a better environment for the human element at sea.”
