USAID’s Counter Trafficking in Persons II (CTIP) Program launched its video “The Giant Ocean Case: Challenges in Securing Justice for Exploited Fishermen.” The 30-minute video exposes the human trafficking ring behind the former recruitment agency, Giant Ocean International Limited, convicted for human trafficking in Cambodia. It is one of the few cases worldwide where a licensed recruiting agency has been prosecuted under TIP laws. The video illustrates the challenges to prosecute all parties involved and to assist the victims.
