London.UK. Today, Human Rights at Sea launches the third and final in its series of freely available educational films and accompanying infographics on the United Nations (UN) Guiding Principles on Business and their application in the Maritime Environment. The film has been produced by Marlins, a leading crewing and maritime educational training provider.
Part 3 of the latest series of freely-available HRAS educational films and accompanying infographic covers the issue of Risks and Corporate Actions related to Business and Human Rights in the maritime environment.
The development of maritime Business and Human Rights is one of the four pillars of the charity’s work, and a series of new educational videos was specifically commissioned and funded for the purposes of further raising awareness in the maritime sector on international protection standards on human rights and businesses set by the United Nations General Assembly and endorsed by the UN Human Rights Council.
Marlins/VGroup commented on the project: “We are very proud to support Human Rights at Sea with their new educational series of Business and Human Rights. We have delivered three engaging videos to help businesses in the maritime environment implement the UN guiding principles, to protect the human rights of their employees. We feel that we have achieved that aim and are happy with the outcome. It has been a pleasure to work with Human Rights at Sea on such an important topic.”
