Melanie Glodkiewicz, a Human Rights at Sea intern, is currently seconded to the German NGO Sea-Watch and their vessel Sea-Watch 2 operating off the Libyan coast.
In this first video report, Melanie describes her experiences on her first mission from the deck of Sea-Watch 2 as it sails back to Malta to replenish stores. This includes her first experiences of rescuing men, women and children from the Mediterranean waters.
